In May 2006 I saw my Primary Care Doctor for extreme Left Lower Quadrant pain.  I was first diagnosed as having a blader infection. - the pain was so bad I was doubled over.
When I experienced the same pain the next month with the arrival of my period she stated is was uterine contractions. I explained my flow was extremely heavy and the clots so large it felt like I was having kittens. She again stated it was uterine contractions.

On 1/5/06 a different Dr. (we had to change due to insurance) order a transabdominal ultrasound due to dysmenorhea that studt revealed my uterus was 8.7 x 4.5 x 5.2cm and the endometrial stripe measured 4mm. The right ovary measured 2.1 x 1.3 x 2.8cm and the left measured 2.0 x 1.8 x 2.1cm. there was no free fluid.  Impression negative pelvic sonogram.

On 7/10/08 I underwent a transvaginal sonogram it demonstrated that my uterus was 10 x 6 x 6cm and the endometrial stripe was 11mm. A 1.6cm Anterior uterine fibroid was suggested. The right ovary was 2.4x 1.2x 2.3cm and the left ovary was 3.8 x 3.4 x 2.8 cm. Myometrium diffusely is mildly inhomogenis. No focal lesion other than small fibroid. Impression: a 1.6-cm anteroir uterine fibroid, Endometrial thickening, upper limits of normal, slightly great at 11 mm. Normal ovaries.

My Dr. Stated it looks like your going to have your period for a long time.

I was recently diagnosed with a endometrial thickening of 14mm. Did your doctor do a biopsy of your uterine wall?

Hi, my daughter just had an endometrial thickening of 1.2 and her doctor is hardly worried and said he never saw cancer of the uterus before age 40 and she is 38 single without children.  Can you tell me what happened to you so far.  Did you have a biopsy.  My daughter's doctor said she could have just a biopsy or a D & C.  I am worried because I had cancer of the uterus at 42 years of age and had a total hysterectomy.  Can you tell me how everything worked out for you as I see this question was written in June of 2009?  I certainly hope that you are doing well and everything corrected itself.  Thank you
