I am going to the doctor again on Friday. I will give what has happened since last doctor's visit until now. I have severe chronic dyspepsia (stomach pain and discomfort). The doctor gave me a total of 20 pills of Protonix 40 mg last time I was there. They were samples. They were helping my stomach and I took my last pill on Sunday. Thursday I called the doctor's office and asked for a refill. It is Wednesday now and the pharmacy has received no prescription from them. I have been taking omeprazole 40 mg, and now I have pains in my chest area. I'm 18 and I am average weight so I know it can't be my heart, but the pain is worrying me anyway because I don't know what it is.
I don't think my doctor is very smart either because my mother went in with severe pain in her sides and a rash on her throat and the doctor said she could have HIV. Eventually she went to the hospital and it was found she had low potassium, pneumonia, and West Nile Virus. Thank God that she is recovering now. This took away our confidence in his abilities and we are looking for another doctor.
Meanwhile, 3 months ago, he said he would order a barium x-ray if the omeprazole didn't cure my dyspepsia. It didn't and that is why he gave me Protonix.
So want I to ask of anyone who would be kind enough to read this and respond is this: How do I get this guy to give me a simple barium x-ray so I can find out what is wrong with me? Why doesn't he want to know what is wrong so he can treat me?
