This list amazes me as my urologist has always suggested cranberry juice for my bladder issues, be it an infection....may I ask why it would be good for one thing and not the other?

Cranberry juice is used to acidify the urine.  The belief is that this prevents the growth and the ability of the bacteria to attach to the bladder wall.  In IC, the protective coating of the bladder is believed to be damaged.  Therefore anything irritating in nature, acids, causes an increase in pain.  JKM

Some of my favorites are in the list. Can't live w/o my daily morning intake of coffee! The rest I can take it easy.

Thanks for the reply.

How would we know if our bladder issues went from one to the other?...being an infection to the IC.

And is there a way to prevent getting IC? What are the signs to get checked for this other than what you have listed above?
