OMG - I am SO bad. I still haven't left home. My fam is going to KILL me. I have just been so sleepy lately. I did go to the doctor though yesterday and guess what. I am making blood! I was up an entire point since I had my blood taken for phlebotomy. Now, this is so weird because I was epogen prior to treatment. If anyone disbelieved the power of interferon to change the metabolism, boy, this is proof. Turns out that for me, its a good thing. This is the first time in twenty years that I am keeping a normal hemaglobin on my own. Kind of a miracle. I like to look at the good things that come from the bad things sometimes, and this is a positive byproduct from hcv and from my assault. As is my working for myself instead of that putrid company I worked for before. So... you know, silver lining and all that. There always is one.
Also, I have my great new pain doctor. And kind of another miracle what's happening there. Used to be I had a headache for ten to fourteen days a month where I was just misearable and I ate painkillers. Then he gives me this huge amount of demerol to use. Well, this month I had two days of headaches, but by taking this huge amount of demerol 12 hours apart, it stopped my migraine in its tracks and... it DIDN'T COME BACK. That hasn't happened in TWENTY YEARS. That means that I didn't have to take any more painkiller. So by giving me more pain medicine, I've ended up having to take much less. I've only had to take it for two days so far this entire month. And I'm hopeful that once I start on a biologic like methotrexate or something for migraines that I'll be able to 86 the prophylactic pain medication I take for my arthritis. Then I would only be on the prn med for the migraines, and if it keeps working like it has this month, that would mean only a small amount of pain medication every month. Truly great! I am so happy about it.
AND, I woke up today and I've lost five more pounds! yay for me! lol So, the weight is coming off slowly, but it is coming off.
I DO hurt really bad with my arthritis, but as soon as this weight is off and I can start back on my lyrica I know that will be much better. I had to go off it until I lose the weight because i retain so much fluid and it seems to stall my weight loss. I can't wait until I'm able to restart it, because even without the biologic, it frequently allows me to skip my arthritis prn pain meds.
Ok. I REALLY have to go finish packing the car so I can leave. sigh...
