It's been a crazy week and I haven't been on the boards like I usually am. I miss everyone!
On top of a very busy work week and needing to get the house cleaned for company this weekend (only time it seems to happen around here!) I flew to Philly for my dream job interview. I was up at 3:45 to get to the airport in Toronto so I could be at their office for 10:00. You can never sleep when you're nervous about missing your alarm. Yuck! The intervews (6 of them) went so well. This software company has a work hard and play hard attitude and very ethical business practices that I respect. The people were so warm and inviting. I thought they were going to hug me goodbye! They told me I was up against 2 other internal employees but considering the CEO told me he wants a Canadian in Canada for the job I'd like to think my chances are pretty good with those employees being American. I learned so much more about their business and am anxious to get them going here in Canada. The CEO sent me off with homework to do up a business plan as though I got the job and am starting Oct. 1. So I am going to be quite busy the next few days on that.
One of the things I like about this job is that I work from home - just need to be able to get to an airport. Hubby and I have fallen in love with the town of Port Stanley on Lake Erie. It has the most beautiful beach on the lake, has many wonderful restaurants and shops and has homes and cottages all up in the hills overlooking the lake. We were so surprised that they are quite affordable so we will be able to fulfill our dream of buying one to fix up as a cottage and then eventually selling our house here and moving there permamently. I would then be able to fly out of the London airport or head to Detroit if need be.
Last night my hubby announces he thinks he has celiac disease or something like that. He has been having a very distended tummy with bloating, intestinal issues, pain and tiredness. The ultrasounds and blood tests showed nothing and he is waiting for them to schedule a colonoscopy. So in the mean time I need to restock my pantry and cooking repertoire with gluten free foods. I hope that this will help him feel better so he can get on with his life.
We helped my 22 year old baby move on Thursday night. He had his own apartment walking distance from us and has now moved into a gorgeous home that he is sharing with his best friend and his girlfriend about half an hour away. He is hoping to save money and have a lot of fun and is now looking heartily for a girlfriend.
So much change! I am hoping that all my friends who are hurting are doing better and that those in Florida aren't being too affected by Fay.
