If your diabetes is diet controlled consider yourself lucky. It's not that you have to cut out alot of food but you have to maintain a balance. For instance in a meal you can have one cup pasta or rice, one serving meat, and 1 and 1/2 to 2 cups non-starchy veggies, and a sugar free desert. It's not as hard as it seems, it's a new lifestyle. If you cannot get your diabetes under control, you'll have to take pills or injections to regulate your blood sugar. Here are a couple of links to copy and paste, hope they help. Stay strong, Take Care and God Bless. If you want to talk more let me know. My mom has diabetes so i help her with it, i'll try to steer you in the right direction too.

Hi,

MedHelp also has a forum dedicated to Type I Diabetes questions, where you can get personal answers from The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. They are a volunteer organization that we partner with that provides excellent answers to medical questions around Type I Diabetes. The forum is located at: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/diabetes/wwwboard.html. In addition, we have some great resources on Type I Diabetes at http://www.medhelp.org/Medical-Dictionary/Terms/1/000305.htm.

Hope these help and welcome to MedHelp.
