Pale? That sure isn't very scientific and I wouldn't think very reliable.  That's an approach to diagnosing anemia that I haven't seen or heard about before. Maybe it works great but I doubt I would be very reassured. Mike

Agrees, I am naturally olive skin,  she would know i am pale? this is not regular anemia!   ~Deb

I am waiting on the bloodwork results. She could be right, but I find her to be a little stiff and maybe a little arrogant. I don't want to judge her. She is the primary care giver I see, a PA and I respect her. I call her Kathy not Dr Schwartz, as everybody else calls her. She calls me Mr. Penn, I asked her to just call me Bill or William, she said she was sorry but she could not shake her training teaching her to call me Mr.
She does seem to care and smile frequently, who knows.

hehe - she sounds just like my nurse who I believe is a little oversensitised to the whole sx thing; the specialist laughed and said she 'goes by the book', but she was telling me that she could tell when people are anemic before their blood tests because of their pale skin and pale lips.  She tends to be patronising instead of validating or explaining what's happening.   I'm olive skinned too!!!! (She calls me Kristina; I call her dipsy.... but not to her face; I know their jobs are stressful, but I think they shold have rotating shelf life)

I'm so glad you're getting your CBC's back fast.  I think when out hgb does sudden drop we really feel it - the slower the drop the more our bodies adjust

I'm so glad you posted; I for one, was anxiously waiting for some good news from you, so thank you for sharing your update!!!!   And when your CBC's come back we will lookout for better news.

Sharing our mutual experiences is what makes this site work. I just hope I get my results tomorrow. I took some melatonin to sleep, it helped but I think it helped increase my nausea also. Using the phenegrin.

I'm using zoplican (I think ambien?) for sleep - it always puts me out but seems to be for longer if I've had a busy day so I think it's quite mild.

The one good piece of advice my nurse did give me regards 'riba nausea' was to eat lots of small meals during the day instead of large ones.  I started have 2 small dinners (half before and half with the family).  Now I have the one normal dinner but have my riba later with a snack.   Twice in the first few weeks I spun out about 10 minz after dinner, waves of nausea and diarrhoea;  I haven't had it since.     I did seem to be chained to the kitchen though; now I'm on week 8 and getting hungrier, I must admit I'm starting to break some of my 'liver friendly diet' rules...

BTW I agree with Deb also; get second opinions on anything you don't feel quite right about - I have managed to get the number of my old hep specialists nurse - I try not to bother her but she is much more sensible and forthcoming and has a brain of her own :-).... I'm about to change GP's also and get one closer to home; I need all the help I can get from empathetic med staff !!!!

One of the positive things about my hep specialists is they gave me numbers and emails to nurses and project manager,who is a Daisy.
