OH WHAT A STONEY THIS IS

Aug 26, 2008 11:03PM - 0 comments

Today is day 7 after attempted kidney stone removel and stent placement. I can't say that i'm feeling on top of the world ;but i don't think this the end now either. One thing i've noticed is the older you are the harder things are on you. Firsy day after stent placement EVERYTHING hurt. Ny neck,my back and my throat. worst day, next day was only slightly better. I just knew thwt darn dtent was poking out and was punching something it wasn't supposed to! Going to "pee" was unbearable. I do know( AND NO I'M NOY WEIRD) is when going to "pee" pour warm,as warm as you can take, water over your bladder opening. You'd be amazed at how much this little thing cuts down on the pain when going, The only doctor that remotely showed any concern for how scared i was and what i was going through were the med doctors on this site. Everytime i bent or moved i bled in my urine. Never having this done before i was scared.I thought for sure i was going to be a prisioner in my bed forever.well on day 4 i started to have burning and pain in the side i didn;t even have surgery in! Yep, you guessed it. Kidney infection. By Sun. day 5 i felt more human.,and today, day 7 i feel pretty good.As far as i know the stones still in there. I was told it could pass out the stent, but really don;t know how that's possible as it lays to  the side if a stent. Wouldn't it have to almost travel up ,through some "curly cue" and back down again ? I have to ride 12 hours in a car to see my son graduate from the Army on a few days and don't know how yhat;s going to go. We'll see i guess.Next week back, stent and hopefully stone removal. wish me luck as this *****.My doctor told me she was only 1" from getting it out the first time.I don't like going to sleep either. One more thing for ALL you who may end up getting in a stent. Keep your stool soft. Trust me on this one. Have a good one. sunny1494
