I am a 23 year old. I have PCOS and am on birth control to try and regulate my periods since I usually only have one every 2 months or so. I am a sonographer so I keep a close eye on my ovaries. The first two birth control types I tried gave me 5-6 cm cysts, both simple and hemorrhagic. When I quit taking birth control the cysts stopped forming. Now I am on birth control again, and I have another cyst. it is 5 cm and just began hemorrhaging; I scan myself every few days to see what it is doing. I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with birth control causing cysts.
