I fell off the MedHelp site when it became somewhat tiresome to squeeze in the time to upkeep. Be interesting now to go back and see where I left off.
While I was scheduled for 48 weeks, due to Cirrhosis, tx was stopped due to complications, at week 26. That still meets criteria, and I was a initially, a fast Responder. Candida, that bad boy, was the last struggle, lasting around 3 months and leaving me with whopping 112 lb of flesh. Skin changes (8 biopsies) didn't bother me so much as the extreme itching. Impossible to sleep. It was far worse than the liver itch, experienced prior to tx. Note: Biopsy 9 was Squamous Cell. Excised. All good in the hood. Know what to watch for...but can exacerbate due to chronic infection, chemo, etc. Hmm.
All in all, the thrush did it, going from my mouth, into the organs. Finally got the proper medication and acknowledgement of the issue by my GI. Let's say he's pretty darned low key about Everything. hmm...you have white spots? well we will keep an eye on it (month 1). Stop eating sugar and bread products. uh, doc, that just about sums up what you want to eat with Thrush. LOL.
Mental outlook improved Very Quickly, I am happy to report!. In about two weeks, the hyperness, negative thoughts of usually myself....changed significantly. Platelets went quickly from low 20's to 50, than Jumped to 90! "Normal" blood work...the usual chemistry has been fab the entire time..my diet, I think has been Exceptional. Perfect cholesterol, calcium, etc. levels. No homogenized fats, vegetarian but with 64 gm of protein in the daily mix....love them Soy Beans and Nut Butters!! Weight came back almost immediately. Now my pre-tx weight of 118, with a dip here and there.
Medical issues still ongoing. Changing weekly, and will address in journals to come...numbness, sleep issues, "blood" pain (only way I can express something that is Everywhere), muscle tenderness. These are the biggies. Memory issues continue.
Looking forward to two important visits this week...GI Liver doc. Have not seen him in what, 3 months? General practitioner the day following. Answers, please...Answers. What does this positive HCV number mean? Neutrophils Critical Low again, and Platelets back down to 52 again. What the heck?
If anyone read this novel, comments of course, Welcome! Thanks for having me back on the site. I sure do know about practically Every symptom, and am a whiz at reading labs. Blessings, All.
