Georgie had a seizure today.  George is my mom's dog.  Mom said it was his third seizure.  His 1st one she witnessed was in Oct 2010.  The 2nd was in back in May 2011.  Now today he had one.  He was hopping around, not responding to us, almost looking like something was uncomfortable on his paw and he just kept shaking.  I picked him up and he continued to shake.  After he came to, he had a postictal period that lasted for at lest 15 minutes where he vomited and urinated.

I highly doubt he got into anything today because my dog, Leo, is here to and he would have gotten into the same stuff.  They are both the same size.

Sorry to hear about George , I hope he is feeling better now? Is he on any medication for the seizures?

George is doing 100% better.  He is not on any seizure meds right now.  I'm going to take him to the vet this coming week and talk to the doc about it.

I had a dog, Ginger who died back in August of 2008.  She had a brain tumor and started having seizures. The vet put her on dilantin to take every day and liquid Valium to put up her butt during an active seizure.  I miss her so much.  I grew up with her.  We got her when I was in 9th grade and she was my baby girl.  We had a real special bond.  Her death was so hard on me.  It took me over a year to just get okay with her being dead.  I still miss her like crazy.  All of the seizure talk concerning George reminds me of her.

I really hope that there is not something 'progressive' going on with George.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, who died. We never stop missing those who were true friends whom we really loved, I know. I lost a friend (human) this year and there isn't a day goes by I don't miss him, and sometimes can hardly come to terms with the fact that he had to go! It seems absolutely surreal. To lose a special friend whether dog or person is always hard. I would feel devastated to lose my girl. I make every day as special and as happy as possible. No-one knows when the last day will be!

Some dogs are genetically prone to this type of thing (seizures) and it isn't always the result of a brain tumor. Hopefully not in George's case.
