1. Half of an avocado a day will lower your cholesterol levels.
Get yourself use to eating avocados. Although avocados are high in fat, it's mono-unsaturated fat that actually does good for you. Eating a half of avocado a day, it can lower your cholesterol anywhere between 8% and 42%. Just cut it up and put some mustard on it, and dig in!
2. Snack on apples and carrots throughout the day.
Apples and carrots! Did you know that eating an apple a day can lower your cholesterol levels by up to 16%. If you add a carrot as your snack, cholesterol levels will drop by 11%. That's 27 % with just two delicious snacks!
3. Add garlic to all your dishes for lower cholesterol.
Everyone knows how good garlic is. Eating a few cloves a day will lower cholesterol level by 7%. Just pop the entire garlic clove in the oven with tinfoil and roast for about 30 minutes. Take out and spread on some crusty bread. You can even slice it up and add to salad, pasta or however else you like to eat it. And if you don't like garlic to eat, most retail stores sell garlic capsules. Take two a day, and watch those cholesterol levels lower.
4. Eat one medium kiwi fruit a day.
Kiwis are excellent source of vitamin C. One medium fruit contains more vitamin C than an orange and provides 2.6 g of dietary fiber which helps lower blood cholesterol.
