Lower Abdominal Pain..contraction?

been feeling good lately apart from the BH contractions that r officially back since last week. today I had a BM (sorry TMI Alert) and after leaving the toilet had extremely mild cramping and a strong painful sensation across my lower abdomen. it was pure pain that last about a min or less (sure felt like more) I was wondering if this is a real contraction, a strong Braxton Hicks contraction or simply the adhesions from my scarred tissue from my tube removal surgery 2.5 yrs ago? shouldn't it b one sided if it were?

what do y'all think? any1 experienced this b4?
Ur input is highly appreciated..Thanks in advance!

Ps: pain was at the lower end of my bump from right to left following a straight line.

i get this sometimes if i need a bm, iv got scared tissue on my bowel from a op years back. bh's do get more painful towards the end, as long as it didnt last long and u have no mare than 5 (i think) in a hour your ok. if it happens again sit down and drink a glass of water! x

Thanks Katherine, did drink a couple of glasses of water and I do feel better. I wonder what real contractions would feel like..100% leaning towards an epidural right now! haha

Real contractions will feel like a charlie horse, except a lot more painful. They generally last anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds and are followed by more not too long after. You can get them in your lower stomach, and they also stretch around into your lower back. I had back labour, which was a little different. I had next to no contractions in the front (and if I did I couldn't feel them) and instead it felt like my lower back was being stabbed and ripped apart.

Thanks Clysta, ur making the epidural sound like "heaven on earth" the one I had was quite painful really but it was just that one and some very mild ones here n there throughout the day "it's 11PM in here" baby's been quite active I read BH can get painful when baby or mum 2b has been active..but DEF going for an epidural for my birth plan...did u do natural labour no medication etc??

Real contractions would keep comming and going and get intense .If you can talk threw them I dont think u hve anything to worry about If it gets bad where u cant talk to anyone while having it go to the er . or if they dont go away  go to the er  o and definitly get the epidural i think it will help relax u  and make labor go faster I was stupid with my first and went natural and OUCH !  never again I got a epidural with 2 and a spinal with 3 .sorry Hala I hope you feel better soon .

oh my! charlie horse, can't talk, OUCH,..doesn't sound like fun AT ALL! ..I have an appointment tomorrow (or more like today) will discuss these issues with my Dr.

dont worry about labour lol its not that bad, i just used gas and air and a tens unit with Lilly, it hurts but its bearable!! buy a tens unit they work wonders!! sounds to me that ur having bh's though i remember mine getting painful at the end :)

It sounds like BH to me also, I have been getting them quite a lot lately and they are getting more uncomfortable the further on I get. Like has been said, if you get more than 5 in an hour contact your doctor or midwife. @angelbabies, I have to disagree completely, labour was the most painful thing I have ever felt and I gave in and had the epidural, so Im only going to that part. In saying that though I am tiny tiny and DS was 9lbs 4oz. It is however the most worthwhile pain you will ever feel. Im opting for an epidural again with baby girl. :)
