Footprints in the Sand

Oct 11, 2008 04:28AM - 4 comments

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Hi Dee,
I love the pic. Where did you find it?  It is so true that when we go through struggles we feel like we are alone, but need to remember that the Lord is always there with us. He does carry us through. What a comfort!
I've been away from MedHelp for a while. I was in the process of moving and finally am all settled in.
Thanks for sharing this photo and Footprints. May the Lord bless you richly for it.

Linda,
Thank you for the comment on Footprints...it is one of my favorite poems.  I am having 2 surgeries Oct 22nd they are doing a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. The reconstructive surgery will take about 4 to 5 months.  My cancer was 5cc.  In Nov. I start on my chemotherapy.

Linda, I don't know why I told you all of this because you can read it on my profile. Now you can see why this poem is very close to my heart.

God Bless,
Dee

I forgot to answer your question...I search for angel pic.. that aren't copyrighted then I use them.  I thought this one was different than all the rest.  It's like we are giving our soul and mind over to Him to carry us through the toughest times.

Dee,
I am sorry for all that you are going through. I pray you have a successful surgery and you recover quickly. Remember, no matter what, you are always beautiful in His eyes.

Take care,
Linda
