From the day of my first BETA I was pessimistic and didn't want to get my hopes up because the beta was only 32 on 12/29 which put me at 11dpt. But, I kept faith and carried on like I was pregnant regardless of the low BETA result. I was instructed by the RE not to worry and that I was a day early w/ testing. I went back to the clinic at 16dpt for the 2nd beta on 1/3, BETA was 418 and as of 1/5 my BETA was 881 (18dpt). Last noc, I started bleeding and expelling clots which totally freaked DH and I out!!! I was extremely concerned being that the BROWN spotting had been present since New Years day but seemed to progress through out the week. My RE didn't seemed to be concerned and thought I should relax. Not only was I concerned about the baby/babies, I was now concerned about my own well being.
So last night DH and I decided to monitor the output over night. Around 2:00 am, I woke up very diaphoretic to the point where my hair, night gown, and sheets were soaked. I immediately went to the bathroom and found several small like clots in the commode. The one thing that puzzled me was I did not feel any abdominal cramps or pelvic discomfort. I knew my trip to the ER would be an excruciating wait so, I decided to see my PMD at 900 am this morning. At this point I was an emotional wreck!!!!
Once I arrived at my PMD's office, she had me POAS(POSITIVE). PMD also suggested I have a PELVIC/ABD U/S and a quantitative HCG level as well. My PMD contacted the hospital to give a full report and ordered all testing as STAT(Immediately). So, DH drove to the hospital like we're in an ambulance ! Once I arrived, the radiologist and a lab technician were waiting to perform the testing
The first thing the radiologist said was due to the number of weeks we won't be able to confirm pregnancy. I explained that I was well aware of that but wanted to make certain that there weren't any other issues. The PELVIC/ABD U/S did not reveal any abnormalities but prompted the radiologist to contact the PMD regarding a TRANSVAGINAL U/S. The radiologist R/O(ruled out) EC (ectopic pregnancy) and stated that my LT ovary could be hyper stimulated. The radiologist also stated that my LT ovary was sort of hiding behind my uterus and that could be the reason for the pain. Lastly, the radiologist stated there was no sign of pregnancy noted( as I already expected)!!
Finally, I spoke w/ my PMD whom stated she would say I had a M/C but the BETA was now 2657 !!!! Well this concerned me!!!! I was under the impression that you could see a gestational sac once the hCG level reached 1200. According to my PMD, the fetal age is no more than two or three weeks. I was told to come back to the her office on Monday for a follow up. For now I am on bed rest, hopefully this will minimize or STOP the bleeding!! I must admit I am more comfortable w/ my PMD than the RE. My PMD was really attentive to my emotional and health care needs. I am totally stressed and just want to have a healthy baby!!
