Insurance will not pay, no good news today

Well they called me from rehab and let me know that my insurance would not pay for a stand alone facility and that I would have to check in to a regular hospital close to me. That's a problem because there is not a hospital in my area that does drug detox... So I took 3 more 10/650's, called in for work and now have to start figuring another way. I have tried several times by myself, but the insomnia, cold sweats, nasty taste and smell and the feeling of impending death have overcome me each time, the same symptoms that I know a lot of you have made it through. Sometimes I can't tell if my chest pain is from my high blood pressure, CAD (50% blockage to right coronary artery) or just symptoms of the withdrawls so I get scared take another xanax and a few hydros and it all seems to get better, but I know it is actually getting worse. What is really scary is that I really do have back pain and have had 3 neurosurgeons that have told me they would not even touch it, because it is beyond their capability. The one with the expertise to do it (located in Memphis, TN) does not take my insurance BC/BS of arkansas and I just got word from another in Little Rock, AR that he will not attempt it either. I believe I am ready to say the **** with the surgery and just learn to deal with the pain if I can get myself detoxed....
I'm so glad you talked to someone, even if it didn't get you very far. It's gotta be tough trying as hard as you are and not much help. I totally know what you're talking about with the cold sweats and that awful nasty taste and smell. That's the worst part for me. Is there anyway that you might be able to taper down a bit each day? I know that has helped me alot in the past. The wds are not quite so bad. Perhaps you could have a doc or some such monitor your blood pressure on the days it feels that it's high. Just to make sure. I'm no professional by any means, but it might put your mind at ease just a bit if you know what the pain is. There's also several posts on here about the "Thomas recipe" that has helped alot of people. It has good suggestions on vitamins, otc meds, etc that can make the wds a little more bearable.
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with this, but you are on the right path. If you want, and I haven't had time to look this evening, you might start a new post on the forum and see what some others have to say or some advice that will help.

I did find a behavorial health center that took my insurance and went in on the evening of the 29th... Was not what I expected.. pretty bad experience, but still glad I did it. Just got home this afternoon 2-2-08 and am tired. still experiencing some insomnia, weakness, diarrhea and abdominal cramping. Have a lot of follow ups to do starting monday. I have had a pretty good day, but this is only day 4. Luckily, I have a lot of support from my family, wife, 5 kids, mother, sisters and brothers. Most of whom where very supprised to find out where I was, but let me know they were proud of me for entering voluntarily. I know there is better times coming, this is only day 4, but it is a start.. Thank you Lord !!! Well I am very tired, but will try and write more tommorow. Thanks for the encouraging words !!!
Well Day 5 - still tired, know I will feel better someday. Hurting in my back right now. feel little depressed, because I am afraid I will not sleep again tonight. If I could just get 6 or 7 hours straight one time I believe I would feel a lot better.
I'm so happy for you. Your posts sound much more hopeful than before. I know you must be in pain, and I'm sorry about that. Wd's are really hard. I'm taking my last ones today. I've actually said that many times before. I'm going to try and stick with it this time. Keep in touch. I'm so glad you got some help! Things are going to really turn around for you now.
