I'm a 39 year old female. I have been through a lot of surgeries and pain.  but at least then I knew what was going on.  I have been suffering from some kind of spasms of my facial muscles or tissue.  It hurts very bad.  I draws my up to one side, one eye will get blurred, and closed more than the other, there is tightening all the way down into the front of my neck and inside my mouth.  My teeth throb, my gums swell.  the wierd thing is that it changes sides or is both sides at one time.  My doctor has referred me to a neurologist. But they can't get me in until march 12th. I don't know if I can stand this pain much longer.  Anybody ever heard of anyhting like this before?

It's call TMJ, get yourself to a good dentist that specializes in this department, if it's not treated properly there could be serious consequences. I found out after a number of surgeries that I had it also. Sometimes the pain doesn't even have to be in the jaw area. I never had jaw pain at all, I had tingling down my arms, back pain, eye aches, sensitive teeth and gums and sinus. Do you grind or clench your teeth? Look up on TMJ and see if it sounds like you. But all those symptoms sounds like TMJ to me.
