Every week patients ask me about what type of mattress they should buy... So I finally composed a detailed blog post that answers this question. Here's a portion of it. If you'd like to read more, feel free to check out the full article.

"Buying a new mattress can be expensive and daunting if you’re not sure what to look for… So I’m going to tell you exactly what I recommend (and don’t recommend) to patients who ask me what type of mattress is best. I’ll also share some additional mattress-buying tips which could save you up to $1,000 or more!"

Hi Adam,

Wondering if you might be able to give me some advice please.

My foot slipped on some wet grass and I jarred my R lower back. At the same time I had bought a brand new, Plush Sleepyhead bed. My back pain seemed to get worse. I swapped my Sleepyhead Plush with a Sleepyhead Firm as I thought the soft mattress may have been aggravating the injury. I have been sleeping on the firm one for a couple of months now. My lower back pain has worsened, though it's intermittant. It spreads to the left side. I am going nuts because I don't know if it's the bed, or the original injury or both. I've had four appointments with three different osteopaths and that's not helped.

My question is, would I be better off seeing a Physiotherapist, or a Chiroprator to look at my back?

Thank you so much for reading this.
