First set of immunizations

Jan 30, 2008 01:24PM - 8 comments

Well today was my son's first set of vaccinations.  I am so worried about them because of all the controversy surrounding them.  I just hope all goes well.  He is now 14 lbs and 26 inches long.  Very big for a 10 week old.  It was so hard seeing my son in pain from the shots.  I had to hold back the tears.

i cried more than my son did when he got his first round of shots. i remember being really worried about it too, for the same reasons as you. he is a year old now and has had all his scheduled shots. it never gets any easier. just keep telling yourself you are doing the right thing!

I also cried more then my son did. I was also sooo worried about the controversy over the shots. But more and more studies are coming out saying there is no link to Autism. You are doing the right thing. I just got my sons 4 month shots and it wasnt as bad as his 2 month shots.

It's terrible when they are in pain.  I wanted to punch the nurse in her face.  It's like she was tormenting my child...LOL.  Then as he's crying she asked if I wanted to calm him down and then she will give him his next shot once he's calm.  I was like mother of god no, why would I calm him and let him think it's all ok just to have him pricked once again.  That's awful.  What kind of stupid thing was that to ask?  I mean really, just hurry it up.

I know, my fiance was carrying our son and we were walking down the street.  I live in Manhattan, NY so you know how rude people could be.  Well they kept bumping into him.  I was about to flip out.  Usually he's the hot head but I don't know what happens to me now.  Even when we are driving, if someone cuts us off and we have the baby in the car.  I go nuts!!!  I swear I'm going to get us shot one day.
