1/28/08 - new SX

Feb 16, 2008 10:58PM - 0 comments

over the weekend post FNAB, my husband started with some new SX,  his neck on RT side got red and very hot to the touch, and the pain was increasing from his mandible to collar bone, I called the surgeons office, to let them know, to make sure there was no signs of infection, i was told by staff that with the SX i was describing I was to take him to our PCP, that it was not related to the biopsy or the nodules.

so i call and make an appt for 1/29/08

on 1/29/08
at our PCP, it was a little disouraging, the dr did not understand why we were there and why the surgeon did not see us,  PCP put my husband on thyroid medication, to bring his TSH down between 1-2,
so we were sent back to the surgeon.

this being so frustrating, feeling like a yo-yo, feeling like no one wants to take ownership and figure this all out.........

so i took my husband to an urgent care facility (where I work) to have the dr's look at him, because my husband was starting to have difficulty swallowing - the dr's ordered blood work and also a CT chest and neck  and told us to F/U with PCP

Blood test results

CMP -  normal

CT results -

1. enhancing lesion right lobe of thyroid gland with central enhancing nodule and peripheral low density cystic area measuring .8 cm. reccommend correlation w/ thyroid US
2. multiple subcentimeter lymph nodes in cervical region, jugulo digatric region, and lateral and posterior triangle of the neck
3. no enhancing mass or collection in the parpharyngeal soft tissue spaces
4. upper airway passages are patent
5. no segmental or lobar consolidation, both lungs. no enlarged mediastinal or hilar lymphadnopathy
