I’m spending Christmas with Jesus this year”

Author Unknown

I see the countless Christmas tress around the world below

With tiny lights like Heaven’s stars, reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular; please wipe away that tear

For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear.

But the sounds of music can’t compare with the Christmas choir up here

I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring

For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing

I know how much you miss me; I see the pain inside your heart

But I am not so far away we really aren’t apart.

I cannot tell you of the splendour or the peace inside the place

Can you imagine Christmas with our saviour, face to face?

I will ask him to light your sprit as I tell him of your love.

So then pray for one another as you lift you eyes above.

So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear.

And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.

I sent you each a memory of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.

It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.

For I can’t count the blessings or love he has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.

Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

My dear mother graduated to heaven almost a month ago.  I saw this verse posted in my chiropractor's office yesterday and was overcome with emotion.  I decided I had to google it to see if I could find it on the web.  Thank you so much!  I want to include it in my Christmas cards to my family.  Leona43

Thank you so much.  I've seen other versions, but this is my favourite.
My bro passed at Christmas time several years ago, and this was read at his memorial service

My aunt sent this to me the christmas of 2004, I had lost both my mom & dad in June of that year to cancer just 6 days apart. They were 64 & 67 yrs old. My parents both dearly loved christmas, about 2 weeks before they passed away my mom was still at home and dad in hospital. I had taken mom in to visit him, when she got there she climbed into bed with him and they were hugging each other and talking. Dad was saying, this is going to be the best christmas we've ever had mom, he was very musical, could play anything but especially the piano/organ and the violin. He told mom I will play every christmas carol we know and the lights will be unbelieveable. I thought he was talking about spending christmas at home. They didn't spend christmas at their house that year. So when I received this poem from my aunt it all made sence. It still brings tears to my eye's for I know now he was talking about heaven. For dad to have said that and then to receive this poem. My mom always said, Have the faith of a child.
Debbie.
