The was said by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys and I alway choose to apply it to my life and addiction in a small way. First of all, I love Audrey Hepburn. She signifies all the beauty eloquence, grace and nobility that I want to have in my own life. My best friend, also named Audrey, died yesterday. She comitted sucide, but it was more the drugs that did her in. Audrey and I would watch all of Audrey's movies together and be transported away from our troubles to a place where honesty, romance and beauty reigned supreme.
This quote always reminded me -- as I work on the stage -- that there are certain temptations everyone in such an environment as mine can be tempted by.
Here are some other quotes that remind and help me through:
"Its never too late to discover what's important in your life, and to fight for it". ~ Premonition
"People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courgeously.
This is how character is built". ~Eleanor Roosevelt
"When you have done something unforgiveable, you do this, you forgive yourself." ~Dr. Littauer, House of Games
"A man withought fear is a man without hope."
"Im gonna tell you something and its just gonna be between you and me, I think folks carry on about heaven too much, like its some "all you can eat" buffett in the clouds and folks just do what they told so they can all eat what they want behind some pearly gates.
There's sinning in my heart, there's evil in the world, but when I got no one, I talk to God. I ask for strength. I ask for forgiveness, not peace at the end of my days when I got no more life to live or no more good to do, but today...right now. whats your heaven?" ~Black Snake Moan
"The journey of 1,000 miles begings with one step," ~Lao Tse
"All those things that werent supposed to happen - they happened.
What happens next is up to you." ~David Duchovny, Californication
"For me, the only things of interest are those linked to the heart." ~Audrey Hepburn

"The world is made for people who arent cursed with self awareness." Susan Sarandon, Bull Durham
"To posess your soul in patience , with all the skin and some of the flesh burnt of your face and hands is a job for a boy or a girl compared with the pain of a man or woman who has lived pretty long in the exhilarating world drugs seem to create and is trying now to live in the first bald desolation created by knocking them off."
"In the abscence of clearly defined goals , we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it."
"Life shrinks or expands in proportion to ones courage" ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
Happiness is not a goal. It is a by-product." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." ~Starman comics
