Bloody cough

My father recently had what we thought was a cold.  Now for the past few days he has been coughing up blood and sneezing blood.  He refuses to see a doctor and I can't think of the cause.    He has been takng mucinex, but i've read the side effects and blood isn't one of them.  This may sound gross, but it looks like bloody mucus.  Its not just a speck of blod either, its mainly blood.  if anyone can think of the reason, leave a post or message me that would be great!

  Your Dad really needs to see a doctor. This is very serious. Tell him to do it for your sake if not his own. He most likely know how bad it is and is scared. It won't just go away and he'll be fine ...he needs help now . If it was just his nose it would not be so bad but if it is coming from his lungs as you indicate it is an emergency.  Good Luck convincing him to go. Tell him you don't want to wait till he passes out to send him in an ambulance.
