32:5 Xmas Spirit

Dec 23, 2008 11:53PM - 0 comments

Yay, finally getting the Xmas cheer.  It's Wednesday and things always start to look up on a Wednesday!

Went to the hospital, had my bloods done including VL, got my next month's supply of meds, cleared all the extra curricula meds with Nursey, got my last blood results; everything is pretty much holding the same, low but no danger, Hb at 10.2.  Blood pressure good, heart rate good, etc etc...

Managed to get some Xmas shopping in - the hospital has a book and card shop on the main level so was able to grab a few Xmas cards (phew!) and got a few little items from the chemist when I picked up a script.  My gifts may not be the most imaginative this year but it's the thought, yes?

Braved the thronging crowds at several supermarkets in a futile search for double whipping cream.  It is remarkable to me that they always manage to sell out of it by midday on Xmas Eve, every year!!!  Got plain old cream and will just beat the heck out of it.  Or get hubby to :)

I'm in charge of desert for tomorrow and I was intending to do a very impressive looking Nigella Lawson Marshmallow Meringue but never got that together so settled for two store made Pavlovas, Cream, and an assortment of Red Berries!  It'll all be good!!

I also dragged out the Dr Suess boardgames as the kids will be old enough to play them this year so that'll be fun.  Almost find myself excited!!  Just need to wrap a few pressies tonight and hey ho it's Xmas!

Thank goodness I finally got into the swing of things!  This morning hubby and I were discussing dressing up as Grinches and stealing everyone's pressies!  Hehe, now that would be fun but I dunno where we would have got Grinch costumes from today.  Perhaps we could plan it for next year?

Nursey did mention that she thought I was a little hyper today, talking way faster than usual.  I agree but at least I'm on the move and not staring out the window blankly like I have done so many times before!

Must go wrap pressies!  Merry Xmas!
