I find that I bruise more easily than before. I bump into things a lot because I'm such a klutz, but I always get a bruise now. I didn't use to before. I wonder if this means I'm deficient in some vitamin.
I'm not sure about the vitamin deficiency and bruising.
When I finally got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, my chief complaint (other than chronic pain) was bruising. I was told my my rheumatologist at the time that brusing was a symptom of fibromyalgia. I bruised very easily (still do) and the bruise would last forever.
It was explained to me that fibromyalgia sufferers lack stage 4 sleep, and therefore muscle repair does not occur properly, and in turn it takes the muscle a longer time to heal.
Go for a blood test to rule out anything serious like leukemia. I have the same problem. I kept bumping into things and have bruises all over the place that my friends used to joke that I must have been 'abused' at home. I also bleed easily when I go to the dentist to clean my teeth and I heal slowly too. The concerned dentist sent to get a blood test. The test turned out to be normal thankfully although the doctor did comment that my white blood cell count seemed to be on a low side although it is still within the 'normal' range.
ireneo - I have increased my consumption of Vitamin E. My facialist recommended that, but I don't take aspirin or blood thinners. I probably also don't get enough Vitamin C. I think I will try to increase my Vitamin C and see if that helps. Thanks!
