Okay, I admit it. I'm a crazy dog lover and my pampered pooches get nothing but the best. They eat premium dog food (Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul), they have fancy shampoo, they've tried every dog treat under the sun (greenies, freeze-dried chicken strips, frozen peanut butter kongs, frozen lowfat yogurt), they go to the best dog parks, and they have matching Coach collars and leashes.
When they go to restaurants or walk into a store, people stare, and I don't blame them. They're just beautiful...with one little exception. Their ears are floppy. And for purebred Samoyeds, this is a problem. Those ears should be upright...at attention. The problem is that they are sisters and they've grown up together and fought and played with each other since day one. And as part of their play-fighting, they like to bite each other's ears...so now the ligaments can't seem to hold their floppy ears upright.
I've considered cosmetic surgery for them, but that seems extreme. If anyone has any tips out there that don't involve invasive surgery, I would love to hear them...
