I would highly recommend trying a low-carb/paleo type diet for life. It has helped me to have much more energy and lose the last few pounds on about 2000 calories/day. My macronutrient levels are 70% fat, 20-25 % protein and 5%-10% carbs, no grain, no beans, no sugar, little fruit, lots of veggies, meat, full-fat dairy, fish and eggs. Calorie-counting not necessary.
I have added more good fats into my diet-nuts/seeds/coconut oil. It seems to me if I don't get enough fat the weight hangs on- yeah it sounds crazy! So far, I've lost 25 lbs since May.
