hi guys, this is my mum's story... by late november or december of last year we found out that mum has thyroid cancer through PETct Scan. We were shocked and at the same time asked our relatives for help; luckily their friend has a son who is a doctor in a big hospital in the city. SO with no more second opinion we went there to have mom confined to have total thyroidectomy and to sum it all she has a T3N1bMo its like almost the last stage of thyroid cancer. So she had RAI-131 last april and we went back for her scans etc like around july and it was all ok.. her TSH is below than the average 0.02 TG- 53.5 but the doctor said that she must have one more RAI-131 treatment so last august 20 we went to the hospital again and have her blood checked and her TSH gone so high again 33.2 and TG- 230+ OMG! I was really devastated by the result!!! and the doctor told me that the RAI-131 might have stopped working and mum probably needs radiotheraphy the very next time. SO my question here is: will my mom be able to survive this cancer thingy? I'm somehow losing hope already. thanks!:)
