This is a look at my journey, I hope that I can help others the way a really nice lady named Amy helped me.  I don't think I could have made it this far without her support.  I would love to hear from someone whos going to have the surgery or has had it already.  I'm scheduled for February 19, 2009  thats in 3 days.  I'm excited and scared all at the same time.  next time i'll write more on my story, gotta go for now.

I'm about to get a consult for a gastric bypass surgery myself.  I'm nervous, but really want to do this.  I just called the dr's office and they told me to download their paperwork for the consultation.  I did that and printed it up.  I even started to fill it out.

I'm nervous though.  What if I don't like being thinner?  What if I gain all the weight back?  I'm at 209 pounds as of last Friday, the 17th.  I don't think I've been thin since I was about 6 or 7 years old, and I'll be 47 in June.

How tall are you Linda? 209 pounds doesn't seem enough to make you a candidate for this weight loss surgery?! 3 weeks ago I was at 203 pounds. Before my second pregnancy 9 months ago, my usual weight was between 135 and 145. I understand what it feels like at 200+ pounds. I am determined to get back to my ideal weight, but I want to do this without surgery. That's why I joined Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago, and my weight this morning was 189 pounds. I started keeping a food intake diary, counting points, and taking more steps every day. I am not going to the gym I just started moving more.
I know you probably heard this over and over, but you CAN loose these extra pounds with the right diet and exercise. If you do decide to have this surgery done, pick a very good surgeon and make sure you do your research. Good luck, it would be great to hear what you have decided to do.
