The saga continues.....

Ok, well... hrm...

The GI got back to me on Tuesday. Of course, he called when I was out running errands. He said my Hida scan was normal. Unfortunately, hubby didn't know to ask what my ejection fraction was.

So anyway, he wants to see me in 2 weeks. I honestly have no idea why.

And I started lyme treatment. Oh what a joy that is! Please note the sarcasm. Please.... really.

I now have to take various pills (meds/supplements) 10 times a day. When I first get up, before each meal, with each meal, after each meal, and at bedtime. My only reprieve is lunch, when I don't have to take something afterwards.

Oh yeah, and have I mentioned that I probably also have Leaky Gut syndrome? Finished Round 3 of allergy testing on Monday, this time for foods. I reacted to everything I eat or have eaten on a regular basis!

Beef, pork, chicken, eggs, dairy, wheat, gluten, rice, corn, oats, brewer's yeast, soy, and sugar. So pretty much all animal products and grains. We haven't even gotten to fruits, veggies, nuts, or legumes yet. That's next week.

Keep in mind that I stopped eating wheat, gluten, dairy, corn and sugar over 5 months ago. And I still reacted!

I have a call into the doc to see if it's actually worth going through the next round of "Pincushion Mondays" since it's pretty obvious that I'm reacting to everything I eat.

Grrrrrr!

Well, the doc hasn't called back yet.  Looks like I'm due for yet another round of "Pincushion Mondays".

This week is fruits and veggies!  What fun that's going to be!  :P

Back from Pincushion Monday.  But wait!  There's more!

In addition to what I've already been tested for, I reacted to:  almonds, coffee, garlic, green peas, tomatoes, green peppers, celery, sesame, garbanzo beans (chick peas), mushrooms, cabbage, strawberries, and spinach.

Fortunately, my reactions to these weren't too bad.  They're considered moderate.

So I have an appt with the Holistic MD next week to go over my allergy testing and to set up a diet plan that takes all this into account, as well as the candida diet.

Did they do RAST tests too or just the pincushion .. and did they do the pincushion from a prefilled pin with serum or did the allergist mix the serum in front of you?

Sometimes people are very very sensitive to the actual  chemical solutions and get reactions to alot of the tests but if you are negative to some of them then there goes that theory!

The type with the pin pricked under a part of the skin manually vs a premade test is actually more accurate I have heard .. they did it with my daughter when we were asked to bring in the actual food and they pricked her.

My dd is so allergic to env. allergins she actually dropped in her BP in the office and had to lie down .. of the 32 tests she was +++++++++ huge welts to 28 of them.

I would ask for Blood test too to see if anything is life threatening ..

So so sorry to hear this .. my dd is latex/nut/plum anaphylactic .. they don't test for latex on skin as it can kill you.

The method they used was kind of different.  Vials of pre-made solution (whcih they prepare on site) then they take a fresh needle and inject a small amount of the solution under the skin.  Since I didn't react to lemons, onions or cucumbers, I guess it wasn't the chemical base.

My lyme doc has offered to do the blood test for foods, but at this point, I think I'm done with it.

I saw the holistic MD yesterday. I'm sooooooo not happy. That's two docs in a week who've let me down. I'm thinking of just chucking the whole thing and letting the lyme doc handle everything.

She never even mentioned the blood tests I'd had done. And I'm pretty sure her panties are in a twist because I went to see a lyme specialist. Strange. Before today, she never even mentiond she treated lyme. This time, she talked about "all the patients she has with lyme and so many are doing so much better". Harrumph!

If she gave a rat's be-hind, she'd have brought that up when I first mentioned it two visits ago. Or gotten a clue from my symptoms list (if she'd ever bother looking at it).

She's trying to talk me into doing IV vit C treatments. I haven't read much about this and will run it by the lyme doc.

Her theory about my food allergies is that I feel bad because I've always been allergic to these foods which have always been part of my diet, rather than because of the lyme or candida I've developed leaky gut and thus developed all these allergies relatively recently. (run-on sentences are fun)  Considering I didn't have ANY digestive problems up until 3 years ago, I rather doubt her theory.

I'm supposed to start allergy shots now. Every week for 3 months and then they'll show me how to do them myself. Not happy about this either. They say it'll only take 20 minutes, but that doesn't count the hour+ driving time each way, so it'll take half a day each time.

Just shoot me.

Thanks for the info :)
