What illnesses can cause memory loss besides alzheimers?
I keep experiencing memory loss within seconds of being told something
and then the person will repeat what they said sometimes 3 times
before I'm able to remember it. This doesn't happen all the time.
This will occur periodically throughout the day.
Is there anything to help with this?

stress causes this.. but you know this.. and you are under a lot of stress these days.. just adopt the attitude of taking one day at a time ..take care of today and let tomorrow take care of itself..the more you worry about memory loss the more stressed you will be and the worse it will be..love you..
This is a well known symptom of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or CFS.... I know 'cause I have it !
And in CFS cases it is known as Brain Fog.
My brain is often foggy, and since I contracted CFS back in April, I've found that certain parts of my memory are almost constantly impaired such as my ability to remember numbers.
The next time you visit your doctor, have him look into CFS- but be warned, a lot of medicos don't take CFS seriously and are not likely to diagnose it. I had to print out a whole book full of info from Wikipedia, MayoClinic, and several other sites including MedHelp and take them into my doc's office and point him on to a CFS diagnosis to get him to pay any attention to my complaints of CFS and Fibromyalgia.
So, in a way, I diagnosed myself- my doctor just verified it. And he was actually grateful for my assistance, 'cause he was baffled as to what was wrong with me, having diagnosed me with pleurisy... but the "pleurisy" wasn't going away !
