So this is way to much TMI but I don't really care!

So I went potty ( #2 ) and when I wiped there was blood. Now I am not to worried as it was a very hard stool and this has happened to be before!  

Anyone have this happen during pregnancy?  

I will let the doc know tomorrow when I see it but As I am constipated and it was a rough go, I think its not a big deal!

Well... progesterone is known to cause constipation and that is released during pregnancy and if you are on supplements (I don't remember if you are) makes it 2x worse. I also had a friend panic one time who was not pregnant but she had just had beets the night before

I agree with Krichar.  There are a couple of other possibilities too.  If it was a very hard stool/constipation, you could have had a minor tear.  Also, your cervix is super soft right now and easily irritated.  You could have had some small blood vessels erupt from the straining.  That happened to me.  None of these things harm the baby.  Increase your water intake and dried apricots always did the trick for me.

I'm sure all is fine, but it's good you are going to mention it to your Dr.

Well the blood did not com from the vaginal area.  I am taking a prenatal pill, have been since I found out.

I believe it's nothing but I just wanted to check around to see who else experienced this.

I have been eating fruits and veggies daily!

Deffinitly happened to me before. Took about a day and a half to heal it's self (sorry if TMI) On top of the Fruits and veggies, ( I have to do the same) Drink plenty of fluids Juice and water. Another thing is look up oatmeal on the net, if you like oatmeal, that will also help :) Oatmeal is one of the most healthiest foods you can eat for breakfast. Lots of health benefits. Hope you have a good day and when you go to see the Dr. hope to see some pics if he or she does an ultrasound =D

This is exactly what happened me on NY day @12 wks... we rushed to A&E as I was so worried from previous m/cs. They scanned me the following day and said baba was fine, just some irritation and more than likely from puching too hard. xx

If you know the bleeding was rectal, I'd really be focused on dealing with the constipation.  Pushing too hard can give you hemeroids, and take it from me, you DO NOT want those..lol.  There are a lot of options, and some good ones posted here.  Try different things and see what works for you.  In some cases, a Dr. will even prescribe a stool softner or laxative (you dont' want to take these without your OB's ok though) to help.  Regardless of what you try though, make sure you drink lots and lots of water.  That helps a lot!  Good luck to you.

I haven't had any hard stool except this one time and haven't been constipated to bad for a while.  I do know that it was rectal.   I am still going to tell the doc and then up my fruit just to be sure!

I'm thinking it's a small case of hard stool induced hemorrhoids I used to get the same thing when I was dependent on pain meds in the 90's over13 years ago. I am totally clean 13 years =0) but I  still get them occasionally if I have a hard stool after certain foods. Ask your Dr about supplementing 1,000 mg of Magnesium Citrate - 1,000 mg of Calcium Citrate 1:1 ratio, I use the company Solaray for me it's inexpensive and works well for me =o) as It keeps me regular and I now for the most part  am Regular and have a Healthy stool. Please speak to your Dr before taking any supplement as every person is a different variable, many Prayers and Blessings ~ jimi (lil wing)

Thank Jim, I am pregnant and on prenatal pills.  I was fine today and no blood, it was probably just cuz it was a hard poo!
