Unbelievable! I just got back from the doctor, where I found out that I weigh 135 pounds! And I'm only 5' 3"! My normal weight is 110 - 115 pounds, so of course I could tell I'd put on some weight, but until today, I had no idea just how much.
This may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, but this is completely uncharted territory for me. You see, all my life everyone always told me I was too thin. I didn't weigh over 100 pounds until I was out of high school. I never had to exercise and I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I guess I had a fast metabolism, because I was healthy, but I just had a hard time putting on weight.
I weighed 105 pounds until about 10 years ago. That's when I turned 35, and then I slowly started putting on some weight. I went back and forth from 110 - 115 pounds over the next few years.
And then I turned 40 and all hell broke loose! Suddenly, I don't fit into any of my clothes any more, I have more gray hair than brown, I can't read the date on a coin without a magnifying glass, and all the store clerks are calling me ma'am! What the.... LOL!
Anyway, so now I need to lose 20 pounds. I'm giving myself 3 months to do it. Actually, I don't know why I'm saying that, because it's not like I'm going to give up and stay fat if it doesn't happen in that time frame. But I had to put something in the weight tracker, and 3 months seemed reasonable. I really hope it is ;)
