Week four

Mar 26, 2008 09:58AM - 0 comments

It is hot in the dermatology waiting room and my doctor is running an hour behind schedule. I read an article in a magazine about the model Carole Bouquet. When she was fifteen she scarred her face with scissors because she hated people staring at her beautiful face. I find it difficult to empathise when I have acne and scarring on my face.
Eventually I'm called into the little office. The dermatologist says she's pleased with my progress, adding that she "would no longer pick me out in a crowd" !
When I get home my boyfriend is annoyed and asks where I've been. I tell him I have to see the dermatologist every four weeks and he says "For God's sake, Eloise, its only a couple of spots."
My son has taken a £20 note from my purse and put it in my special money box. I ask him why and he tells me its because mummy has twenty baddies on her face. My son has autism and cannot tell lies. He can't pretend its only a couple of spots.
