blood clots in my lung

well not only have i got the interferon to deal wif , ive got blood clots in my left lung. I was admitted into hospitial 6wks ago and nearly died, since ive been home ive had terrible pain in my left lung and have to have pain relief all the tym (which suxs) ive probaly got a habbit on the pain pills now. Is there anyone that knows about blood clots in ya lung and can give me some advice anything please any ideas certain foods etc that might help.....Im going crazy wif all the side affectys from the interferon and then the warfarin (that thins my blood out to prevent more clots) but i get side affects from that as well. My life suxs so badly at the moment im always in pain or having my hair fall out or having the terrible achy rash. I need some help or advice please
Hi Destiny: I'm so sorry to hear that you developed a blood clot in your lung. Did you have a deep vein clot in your legs that started it? You seem to be on proper meds for it (blood thinner) but I believe that blood clots can take quite some time to go away. I don't know of any foods that would specifically help your lung issue other than the normal healthy type diet and lots of water.
I'm not sure what kind of advice I can give you other than to tell you to try not to worry about the hair issue...it's something we cannot control so we just have to give in to it. I have lost 60-70% of my hair so I do know how frustrating that issue is -- but my advice is to give in to it and take that stress off your plate.
As far as the rash, I don't know what you've tried so far but I would suggest the fragrance free lotions (Aveeno, Cetaphil or Eucerin) and try Benadryl. Those work for me if I take the Benadryl prior to each dose of riba (and in between if necessary). Or, ask your doc for some RX meds for the itching because there are some...Atarax maybe?
Good luck to you with the lung issue...and, again, I'm sorry you have this to deal with in the midst of treatment.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I just did a quick google search----- Blood Clots in Lungs, all kinds of information there. Although some of it is kind of scarey. I saw where they had some forums about blood clots in lungs You may want to search through this info. What does your doctor who is tx you say about it?
I am 55yrs old and having the same problem.I was ICU step down they called for 1o days.All they did was give me shots in the morning and warfin at night,then they sent me home.How did they know they gone,because they didn't do anything to see.This was last week in April 2009.It all started with a cough and shortness of breath.Went to the hospital for a ct on my lungs and went stright to a room.My problem I am having now is getting my blood level right,too thick one week way too thin the next.This has been going. on fo 4 months.I have been headachs,didzzy and light headed feeling,and on ocasion I have fell out and cut my head open.I haven't driven in a while,scared I'll hurt somebody or myself.I go back this comming Thursday for another CT to see if any more clots have formed.I hope not,I have a feeling they may have.I had a lot in both lungs.AllI can do is say a prayer and pray for the best. Any news Mack on if there were any more clots? I have 2 large clots and lots of smaler clots in both my lungs after delivering my 3rd child. Just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago and was concerned about them not doing another scan before they sent me home. Praying for you all!! Jessica
