rare cases

Mar 27, 2008 09:52PM - 7 comments

Worried again, heard there are rare cases where a person develops no antibodies whatsoever but still had HIV, wondering if these cases were due to some pre-existing condition that caused that... could i be one of those people? God, someone help me relieve all of this anxiety!

Hi there.  You can carry the virus, but you do not get sick.  By this, I mean that you are healthy, but you can pass the HIV virus to other people.  Not all people who carry the HIV virus, develop AIDS, that is when you start having health problems like severe diarrhea, pneumonia, etc.  If you have more questions, ask for medical advice.

Pennie - Please make sure you get a complete physical exam - including a gynecological exam. Make sure they test for Bacterias, Infections and the basic STDs as well - OK?

I really don't think at the 5 and 1/2 marker month - with your read out that you are in the HEP group. But something is obviously going on. So you need to find out what it is.

I wish you the super best of luck.

Sweetie - ANYTHING is possible - the world could implode in a second...

But I have never seen anyone who doesn't have a marker for HIV or HCV --- the tests are pretty good. As in -- I would highly doubt that you would be a carrier of either if they showed neg.

I really think you need to look at other medical issues that have the same problems.

You might want to ask for a CAT SCAN and an MRI --- Plus make sure you've eliminated tumors, pancreatitis, diabetes and some other basics. OK?

Thanks Meki, I am schedule to have a CAT scan on saturday of the abdomen, but i did get tested for Hepatitis again a couple days ago and im still waiting on the results, if negative I'm moving on and I will go get the CT scan, but if positive, well i guess i've gotten to the route of the problem after all.  I am also schedule for a abd/pelvis sono on monday morning, but again if test results are positive then i guess i don't need the tests since Id know what was causing the problem...
