So I went to my regular doctor last week because I've been having stomach pain. She sent me for a cat scan, which then showed a very large cyst on my right ovary. I knew there was something going on. So then I had to get an ultrasound and then see my gyn. The results are not great. He said its not fluid filled and there's blood in it, which usually indicates cancer. He's thinking because of the ivf meds my ovary was just over stimulated and that caused cyst. So my blood levels for cancer markers were slightly elevated. So I have to wait on a referral to a gyn oncologist. Hopefully I will have answers next week and either way I will be having surgery. So that ***** because I'll have an incision from my pubic area to bottom of my sternum. I'm trying to keep my nerves calm and think positive but here lately cancer is running through my family.
Update: so the gyn oncologist was very through and really nice office and the staff were great. So we discussed all the possibilities and decided that a full hysterectomy is best. The only issue is that I may have to have a bowel resection depending on how my colon looks. I go for a colonoscopy on Tuesday just to get a better idea of my Colin, since the cancer marker was up on it too. I'm really nervous because it's a really big incision and spending time in the hospital away from my family. I'm trying to stay strong, but it stinks that there is something unknown growing inside my body making me sick and in pain. But next Friday I will have surgery and all will be better.
