I need help

I feel like I am at the end of my rope! I know I have endometriosis. I have been back and forth to my local health dept. There is only so much they can do for me, as far as extra tests that I need to confirm the diagnosis. I have no health insurance. T he financial counselor at the hospital said that since I applied for Tenncare and was turned down(recieved food stamps instead of health ins. thru the state) the hospital would discount the tests 36%. With the discount the teste stil cost $433.00. Wow, I cannot afford that!!Is there anyone out there who has a problem, but has no insurance, that has found a way to get what they needed??  Any suggestions would very much be appreciated. I know alot of people who are on Tenncare and I have a medical problem and I can't get help!!!!!!

If you fall within the income guidelines and feel you should not have been turned down for state issued health insurance, I suggest either going back to the health Dept and ask for a redetermination but also you might want to imply that you will or might go to the local Newspaper or TV station to let them know that you meet the requirements to receive state issued health care, but have been denied.  A threat like that given to the Health department may have them redetermining your case.  and If they dont, I would call the local paper or Television and tell them your story.  Remember, you have rights as an American that alot of other countries dont have and believe it or not,  a story like yours is one that any reporter would probably like to hear.
