Uninsured Americans, please stand up. Let me know who you are and why you are not insured. Many people believe that you may not care, worry or even want to be insured. I am curious as to your reasons for not purchasing health insurance. More importantly, I wonder why you would choose to be uninsured.
I hope that your reasons lie around issues that we as a nation have not yet resolved. Whether, a fully insured, self-pay, co-pay, high-deductible, health savings account (“HAS”), individual reimbursement account (“IRA”), preferred provider organization (“PPO”), health maintenance organization (“HMO”); whether self-employed or employee, please let me know that you are taking care of your health and well being.
I believe that there may be other reasons that surround your decisions; that it may not totally be your decision. Economics may play a large role in your decisions, nevertheless, please let me know.
I believe in our country, in our people; I believe that we should help each other, in taking care of each other.
Healthcare needs to be accessible, feel accessible, truly be accessible for all. Part of our problem may be that we do not feel that we have access to basic care, healthcare within our country, as rich as it is, may not really be accessible for all of us. Some of us may feel that to enter or access healthcare, means accessing a world or an industry that remains very removed from every other industry within our economic system. With respect to pricing and costs, we as consumers are kept apart from this system. Well how can we make decisions about our consumption when we have no idea, or more importantly, are not provided access to pricing, costs, procedures, etc. with respect tour healthcare services and consumption. How can we make good decisions?
