Challanges

"Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory"

Ok, we tend to look for a mantra once in awhile to try to live by.  These last three months have been a growing and learning process in dealing with the return and coping of anxiety.  I have preached many times that we learn so much more in times of despair than in times of happiness.  This is so true in dealing with panic and anxiety.  I have been as low as you can go and as high as you can go many times in my life.  Anxiety is just a challange like sports, school, relationships, etc.  Three years ago, I did not realize what hit me when this all first started but this time around I had the knowledge to confront it, and while thought I was just as frightened this time around, I was better able to deal with it.

I have always been a competitive person from sports in high school and college to school, games, and my time in army.  So how do I deal with anxiety?  I look at it as a challange that can and will be conqured.  I have faced many challanges in life, from athletics, to being mortared and shot at, school, etc, but NONE of these challanges instilled more fear and confusion than anxiety did.

First of all, realize that just by confronting the anxiety and panic, you are not being cowardly in the LEAST bit.  In fact, admitting and confronting it is much more courageous than ignoring it or pretending it is not there.  Once you do this, you WILL get better even though sometimes it does not seem like it will ever end.  And once you conquer and deal with it, life becomes so much sweeter for it.  You WILL feel the exhiliration of victory.  But, there is always a but, realize that you will suffer defeats along the way.  Don't worry about this too much, because that is life; remember everyone on this planet has their ups and downs!  Will I have my bad days, weeks, or even months?  You bet!  Just look at it as another challange and then you can taste victory once again.....STAY MOTIVATED!
