Well, this past Wed. was the 16 week mark ... 5 weeks after stopping Telaprevir and many dose reductions of Ribavirin ... so getting my viral load check was unnerving.  Got the results yesterday from a slightly less sensitive test compared to Heptimax which Quest doesn't do anymore.  Result  <15IU/ml Not Detected.  I'm really happy and my anemia is abating a bit ... now hemoglobin is 10.1 up from 9.1 two weeks prior.  Doc reduced my riba to 400 mg/day, but now I can go and alternate between 400 and 600 per day.  This dose reduction made me nervous also, but my hemoglobin had gone down to 8.6 and I could barely walk.  Gonna play a little baseball tomorrow and probably sit out several innings, but I'll be in the game.

This is great news, Mark!  So only 8 more weeks, right?  Wishing you the best, and cheering you on, from the side-lines!

Thanks Katy.  Actually, at this point it is 7.5 weeks left.  These last 16.5 weeks went by kinda quickly ... the last will be slow I figure.  How are you doing?  Your husband?

Hang in there Mark. I bet on SVR for you. After I finished Telaprevir I had a drop in hemoglobin and I have been to 8.8. I had Riba reduction one week and it bounced to 10.2 and is around that since that time

I will have my EOT tests on 2 Oct so I am nervous as well

Wow Diana.  Good luck with that.  I'm gonna bet on SVR for you too!  Interesting, I had a fairly sharp drop in hemoglobin after I finished Telaprevir at 11 weeks (skipped the last week) and the dose reduction has boosted it finally over 10.  Gonna now increase the ribavirin back to 400 and 600 alternating days.  Let me know how Oct tests turn out.
