Just when you think all is on the mend ... sometimes there is another curve ball.  Seems the original abscess has 2 outlying areas that created their own little pockets that had to be dealt with today ... along with the one on the hip that has been trying to do something.  Back to the ER with a pretty good idea of what was going to be done.

Yep .. I was right .. the doctor tried to aspirate all 3 areas and was successful with the one on the hip and again sent it to culture.  The lower abdominal one he was partially successful on and the upper one he was not.  Therefore, he I&D'd (incision and drainage) those two and then packed them.  The oral antibiotics are to continue and back I go tomorrow for another packing and a "look see" by the docs.

The positive aspect of the story is .. the tummy as a whole is getting better AND I recruited two new people for MedHelp Dieting & Weight Loss community.  Believe I will go laden with more material and information tomorrow so we can get more people to join us!  

The weight loss efforts ARE working and just ended day 2.  Have lost 2 lbs so, even though some of it is water weight .. I am happy the scale is going down.

Going to bed now .. tired and hurting some .. want to get to sleep before the pain pills wear off.  Nite all ...

I had noticed that you weren't posting much again lately, and wondered if there had been a set back.  I've very sorry to hear about more problems with your tummy.  Do they know what is causing all these problems?  Or did I miss something earlier?  

I sure hope they get these latest pockets drained and you can, once again, be back on the mend.  Great on the weight loss, too, but don't try too hard on that yet.  You need your strength and nourishment in order to heal properly and get well.

Darn it!  I snooped on over to your profile and saw this journal.  I haven't been logging on lately, so that's what happens!  I sure hope you get "all better" soon!

I'm so sorry that this keeps on going on.  I *am* glad that you are on top of things, though, and not hesitant to get right back to the doctor.

I can't believe you - recruiting even during all of THIS !  You go, girl !

I'll be praying for you.  Take care and get some rest.  We'll be here when you get back.

Sorry for your recent problems, you are in our prayers and our thoughts, best wishes and love is sent from this side of the Ocean.
Its good that things are getting better and you are still on the ball for recruiting.

I went for a check up at my Hospital and too sang the praises of this site to the staff there, who promised to look at the site with a view of passing it onto other patients.
