The vet seems to think maybe she had something in her throat that night and it was an isolated incident.  If it keeps happening, obviously we will resort to the exploratory procedures of x-rays and endoscopy, but that is way out of our budget right now, at least for this one incident.  They did a full exam and said she seemed OK, but since the vet visit she has stopped eating normally and is consequently rarely going #2.  This MAY not be anything bad.  My dog is EXTREMELY smart.  I had recently changed her food and did it very, very gradually (combining it with old food in greater proportions).  Just before this incident she had been on 100% new food for about a week.  The day or two after, she really wasn't eating which may have just been from that incident, because she did seem sick then which is why we brought her in.  I decided to try to switch her back to the old food, because even though this stuff is all natural and better for her, she never seemed to like it as much as the Iams Naturals.  So to keep her full until my husband came home with the old food one day, I kept giving her people food.... sliced turkey, chicken breast, peanut butter....  so now I think it may just be a well orchestrated ploy to get the people food again.  She doesn't seem sick or listless at all, and like I said, she is VERY smart and I would fully expect something like this from her!  Of course it is still making me extremely nervous, so I'm watching her very closely.  She does eventually eat at least half to 3/4 of her food, just not in the manner she used to.

Your dog is so adorable! We have 2 dogs as well and our girl is so smart, she can pull things off you wouldn't believe! Actually you would! Anyways I just saw your entry and wanted to tell you I hope everything really is ok. I know that our dogs are our world-they are so spoiled and we just love them so much. It's hard when they start acting differently because they can't just come out and tell you "hey I'm not feeling so well" you know? I hope your girl starts improving. My husband and I are DOG LOVERS :) Give her a squish for me!
