I was diagnosed with AIH 4 years ago and stayed on the prednisone/imuran treatment for just under 1 year........and stayed in remission until May of this year. I am having a hard time accepting that I have to go through all of this again! Biopsy is showing scaring and numbers are still close to 200 for AST.....did go up to 1000 so quess I am making progress, but feel awful. I have nausea, pain in rib area, my arms feel like they are made out of lead and I am so tired all of the time that I can not imagine getting back to work anytime soon. I don't remember feeling quite this bad the first time through......does it get worse each time after a remission or am I just forgetting how it was the first time? I am having trouble regulating my insulin, so I am sure that accounts for some of the fatigue. I am currently on 20mg prednisone and 50 imuran. When I was first diagnosed with this and put on the prednisone I gained 120 lbs and have never been able to lose it, so am watching the intake VERY carefully this time. I am hoping to make some new friends in this group as I do not know anyone with this disease and am trying to get myself up to date.
