Surgery

Finally! Someone called me yesterday from the clinic; I'm scheduled for surgery next Tuesday April 29th.  I'm glad I have  a date after waiting for what seemed to be forever.  But now I'm nervous. I'm nervous and also stressed out again because my husband told me that they might have to postpone if I have a cold.  I do have a cold, but I'm already recovering.  I have 6 days until surgery, I think I'll be ok, but I have my pre-surgery appointment tomorrow as well as chest x-rays and other tests.  What if they don't like the way the x-rays look because of my cold?  Oh, gosh, I hope they don't postpone because of it.  I will cry if they do.  Afte waiting so long and managing to get scheduled before the end of the month like I wanted (my insurance turns HMO on the 1st of May), I would hate for something else to get in the way.  Darn it!!!!!!!  Why did I have to get sick????????  I'll have to tell them tomorrow when I go too.  I know it'd be for my own good to postpone if they do.  I read online that there could be respiratory problems from the anesthesia if you're sick.  But I REALLY wouldn't want to postpone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, What surgery are you going to have done?  I was getting over a cold when I had my thyroidectomy and they did my surgery.  I just let them know how I was feeling and that was it.  I had a sinus infection.  Actually, I'm still getting over it.  I had my surgery 6 weeks ago.  I guess when your resistance is down you don't do as well.  I guess you probably didn't want to hear that.  I just waited too long to get in touch with my PCP.  They put me on a different antibodtic today.  Check with your physcian, you may have an infection not a cold.  I thought I had a virus.  I'm sure they will let you have your surgery.  Check with your Dr.  Good Luck, God Bless

I just read your information.  Just let them know how your feeling.  Maybe they can give you a shot of antibodtic or even an I.V. antibodtic to clear up possible infections before your surgery.
