Eating Better...

Jun 07, 2009 - 2 comments

I ate a little better today, and managed to keep some food and water down.  So hopefully now I won't be feeling the need for an IV tomorrow.

If anyone knows food that's easy to keep down, feel free to make any recommendations.  I'm happy to try anything...  Well, more or less.  I'm not thrilled with the whole eating process, but if I find something that stays down I'll be thrilled.  (I can't eat any warm/hot foods though.  I'm temperature intolerant.  Has to be room temperature or cold.  The only warm food I can tolerate is toast.)

Oat meal, just let it cool off and put some agave syrup or pure maple syrup on it. It's whole and comforting. You might also want to try some green tea with organic honey (again let it cool to room temperature) It will surely help hydrate you. drink plenty of smart water it's steam distilled and electrolyte enhanced =0) and  its made by the coca cola company. Vitamin water revive is also Good and hydrating.

To Eating Better,

I hope you are having a good day. I don't know what your condition is, but I've had bouts of pancreatitis and have to be very careful about what I eat anymore--you can't keep down any food or water when one of those comes on, and it's very painful.  I do a lot of nibbling anymore. Small meals. When I have to work back into it, I eat Jello, a few nibbles of trail mix for protein. Carrott sticks or celery with cream cheese or peanut butter, when you can work up to it..  The plainest crackers I can find--like saltines. Chicken soup usually worked for me, and you don't have to make it hot. Or french onion soup--something of a clear broth, but that will give you some salt in your system. Water enhanced with electroytes will also help.

I, too, am not thrilled with the whole eating process--it's too much trouble--but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hang in there!
