My 15 month old daughter has been diagnosed with Intramedullary Cystic Neoplasm possibly Astrocytoma. Now, the doctors are asking to go in for Biopsy to determine the type of lesion. Since, the lesion is with in the spinal cord, the biopsy is nothing less then surgery. I am worried whether the child will be able to recover from such an operation. Is there any other way, one can detect the type of lesion.
