I am so confused and hurting

I have been addicted to hydrocodone for about a year taking about 5-10 pills a day.  I just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant.  My husband and I want this baby so badly and I want to get off these pills.  The doctor wants me to go to a Methadone clinic, that i can't afford, and not taper off slowly.  I am so confused cuz every post I read says pregnant women taper off.  I don't understand because if they put me on methadone my baby will have withdrawals.  I figured it would make more sense to taper off.  What do I do?  I am so emotional about this I am freaking out.
Please, please, somebody help me.

Go to the methadone clinic, immediately,.  Be honest, do not downplay your drug abuse.  I worked with an addict who had to stay on methadone throughout her pregnancy.  Do not try to handle this yourself.  You can have seizures and you will surely harm your baby.  Your baby's only hope is for you to go to the clinic.
