As i stated in my first question i have had Paraesthesia around the T8 dermatome for over a year.[They are my Doctors words].It started after a night out.I had been dancing and consuming a fair amount of alcohol but no drugs. The symptoms were at first strong and accompanied by a water infection which i later had treated. At first i had thought the tingling was part of the water infection but when the infection cleared the tingling remained.[At this point i was 4 months post natal with my 2nd child and had not long got over a severe ear infection, how relevant this is i'm not sure].

As a professional musician i thought it important to get it checked out.My Doctor at first suspected arthritis in my neck but after an x-ray this turned out not to be the case.He then referred me for physio.I had this for months but this did nothing so nearly a year after seeing my Doctor i was referred for an MRI.The first result i was told was abnormal[i was told this over the phone].I could not get out of her what had showed up but i was worried it may be Cancer.I had to wait for a consultant to phone and discuss it with me but he never did.I was just sent an appointment for a second MRI.It was suppose to be on my spine with injected dye.

During all this i had developed a hard lump in my groin area.I went to get it checked out and received antibiotics. They did not clear it up so i was starting to get concerned i may have Cancer which had spread[I'm a bit of a worrier].Fortunately after a strong course of antibiotics it cleared up.

When i went for my 2nd scan a month later i was told they were scanning my brain too! This worried me a bit as i had not been told this and could not understand why they would need to scan my brain.[They did not use the dye this day and i was later told they should have].

I made an appointment to see my Doctor in the hope he could fill me in but he had no notes about any of my scans. After writing to the hospital he got some information and my 2nd set of results. He got me in that day.He said i had high attenuation consistent with demyelination and explained it further as lesions on my spine and brain.
Further down the line i got an appointment with a Neurologist.I was so nervous agout what she might say,i have never been so nervous not even when performing on my Viola! It went well i thought.I took my Mum and Partner. She took my history and then informed me she did not have the discs with my scan results on but had notes about results from my Doctor. She said it was a good sign i had no other symptoms of M.S,that the lesions had reduced on the 2nd scan, that i had a "blob" on my brain[whatever that is] and that she was looking at Devic's disease,M.S,or infection.
I was honest, even with my Mum present,of the fact i had taken drugs in my past[not frequently]including Ecstasy and Cocaine.I told her i had once taken 1 Ecstasy tablet and had collapsed for about 10 mins.At a later date[years later] i tried less than half a pill and passed out for a few seconds.I have never taken it since. She said it may account for my results but could not say until further investigation.

I have most of the tests to go but have received my blood test results and all was normal.
