Last week I had a stroke. I spent a day and a half in the telemetry unit of the local hospital. I had a CT scan and an MRI. The MRI showed "chronic ischemic white matter changes" and "multiple bilateral symetrical punctate areas". Also - "subacute stroke in right prefrontal gyrus at the level of the centrum semiovale". This is all greek to me. My transesophageal echo showed an "intra atrail septal aneurysm". I am very concerned about all this because it all sounds like stuff you would say about an old gal who isn't doing so well!! I have no idea what happens next. I have a neurologist appointment later today and an appointment with a cardiologist next week. Wish me luck.
